UTK’s Erica Grant competing in next month’s “Stu Clark Investment Competition”

Another start-up founded by a University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) student is headed for the “Stu Clark Investment Competition” next month at the University of Manitoba.

This year, it is Eric Grant, Founder of Quantum Lock Technologies LLC. She’s a doctoral student in the Bredesen Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Graduate Education and is drawing of her knowledge on quantum computing to develop more secure locking devices. (Click here to read our first article about Grant and her idea from February 2019.)

“It’s an honor being selected for the Stu Clark business plan competition,” says Grant. “With the potential award winning, I would be able to fund the rest of my product development prior to beta testing.”

The event is March 13 and 14.

Just a year ago, Lia Winter, then a UTK graduate student, won $21,500 at the competition in Winnipeg where she pitched her EasyWhipTM product.
