U.S. Patent and Trademark Office hosting virtual program for formerly incarcerated individuals

The session features an individual who has become a successful entrepreneur as well as resources for those formerly in prison.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has announced a virtual program set for March 14 and focused on individuals who have served time in prison.

Titled the “Formerly Incarcerated Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program,” the two-hour session will spotlight how a formerly incarcerated innovator overcame life-changing challenges to start her company. That individual is Aisha McCain, an inspiring inventor whose passion, tenacity, and creativity led her to develop medical innovations and improve the lives of others.

Attendees will also get information about resources and services available to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals to protect innovations and build businesses. The full agenda, as well as a link to join, can be found here.
