Thirteen student start-ups competing for $40,000 in “36|86: Student Edition Pitch Competition”
Launch Tennessee has announced the 13 finalists in its “36|86: Student Edition Pitch Competition” that will be held Sunday afternoon, June 4, just a day ahead of the start of the third iteration of the “36|86 Conference” in Nashville.
The finalists, divided into four categories and selected from university-based competitions, include six from universities in the primary coverage area of teknovation.biz. They are:
Social Enterprise: None from east of Nashville.
Consumer Goods/Services:
- Gigamunch (Tennessee Tech University)
- In With The Old (University of Tennessee, Knoxville)Technology Enabled
Technology Enabled:
- The Sorority Guide (UT, Knoxville)
- AM Optics (Tennessee Tech)
Commercialized Technology:
- GeoAir (UT, Knoxville)
- SimPath (UT, Knoxville)
Finalists will pitch to and be evaluated by, a panel of judges made up of C-suite executives, investors and tech leaders who will select four winners – one from each category – to receive a combination of cash prizes, Southwest gift cards, and access to continued support needed to launch and grow their business.
