Tennesseans not known for honoring New Year’s resolutions

Residents are particularly delinquent when it comes to those involving Bad-Habits.

How are you doing not quite midway through January on the resolution(s) you made on New Year’s Eve?

Well, if you live in Tennessee, chances are you will not manage to keep it or them. That’s according to an analysis by WalletHub, the personal financial website. Particularly noticeable were the Bad-Habit rankings of the four major metro areas. Of the 182 cities ranked by WalletHub, the best that any Tennessee metro could do on its Bad-Habit score was Chattanooga at #162. Knoxville came in at #170, Nashville was #171, and Memphis was at #173.

In addition to a Bad-Habit score, WalletHub ranked cities on four other key dimensions: Health Resolutions, Financial Resolutions, School and Work Resolutions, and Relationship Resolutions. Taking the five together, Nashville was the state’s highest ranked city at #72 followed by Chattanooga (#115), Knoxville (#138), and Memphis (#178).

The two East Tennessee cities were highly rated on keeping School and Work Resolutions with Chattanooga at #25 and Knoxville at #41.

You can find the full rankings and the methodology at this link.
