TCNewTech is a periodic pitch competition in Traverse City
It was launched in 2015 as a way to better connect the tech professionals and start-ups in Northwest Michigan.
The TCNewTech pitch competition occurs regularly throughout the year in Traverse City, MI.
Launched in 2015 by local resident Russell Schindler, it was intended as a way to better connect the region’s tech professionals and start-ups. Entrepreneurs pitch their start-ups in front of a panel of judges and live audience as they vie for cash prizes, in-kind business support services and resources, and more.
It became a program of 20 Fathoms, a co-working and start-up support organization, earlier this year. That host organization has itself grown from a small start-up incubator and co-working space to become the regional hub for entrepreneurship and innovation in Northwest Michigan.
“It was inspiring to see how many people turned out to support local entrepreneurs on a beautiful summer day,” says Eric Roberts, Executive Director of 20Fathoms, who announced his retirement in mid-July about two weeks before the most recent TVNewTech competition. “The support that we saw from the community, especially for our local entrepreneur whose family was in the audience, is what we’re about here in Traverse City.”
The next TCNewTech competition will take place on September 10.
