Support Knoxville’s entrepreneurs: Register for “The WORKS” Demo Day
The Demo Day for "The WORKS" Accelerator is on September 4th.
The Knoxville Entrepreneur Center (KEC) opened registration for the upcoming celebration of its summer accelerator program, “The WORKS.”
The WORKS is a twelve-week intensive program aimed at propelling start-ups toward success by offering unmatched opportunities for growth, mentorship, and networking. Focused on encouraging innovation and scalability, the program equips entrepreneurs with the essential tools and insights needed to thrive in today’s competitive market.
The current cohort of the WORKS began on June 12, 2024, and has been held every Wednesday afternoon from 2-5 p.m. at the KEC. Participants have benefited from direct interactions with industry experts, facilitators, and mentors. Leading the program is KEC’s Chief Experience Officer, Chris McAdoo, alongside a lineup of successful entrepreneurs and subject matter experts such as Patrick Hunt, Ashleigh Walters, Courtney Jones, Jenna Johns, and Melissa Centers. Throughout the program, start-up founders engaged in dynamic workshops, and panel discussions, and visited Cirrus Aircraft (see teknovation.biz article) The participants also have an upcoming visit to Clayton Homes on Wednesday, August 14.
“The WORKS business accelerator has been a game-changing experience for so many companies, and we’re proud to continue that tradition with five incredible tech-focused startups for 2024! Thank you to our active mentor community and our corporate mentor partners who make all of this possible, and we commend the tremendous amount of work and dedication from each founder and their teams. We can’t wait to see everyone on September 4th,” said Jenna Johns, an executive, teacher, serial entrepreneur, and WORKS Capital Mentor.
The celebration culminates with Demo Day on September 4th at The Square Room. Attendees will hear presentations from the five participating companies and discover some of Knoxville’s most promising early-stage startups. The event will also feature special guest Dr. Amir Sadovnik, Research Lead for the newly established Center for AI Security Research at Oak Ridge National Lab.
