Southeast Venture Showcase begins its three-day run on April 21

The event is being held in Nashville but features lab and university start-ups from the region.

Forty entrepreneurs from across the region are scheduled to pitch their start-ups next week at the inaugural Southeast Venture Showcase in Nashville.

Described as a transformational event that empowers research universities and federal laboratories across the Southeast to showcase their most promising technology ventures for the nation’s venture community, the event starts on April 21 and continues until about 12 noon CDT on April 23. It will be held at The W Hotel.

Among those pitching are six Knoxville area companies, three associated with the “Innovation Crossroads” program at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, one that licensed technology from the University of Tennessee Research Foundation (UTRF), and two others that have relationships with both programs. The local participants include:

  1. Coulomb Technology (Innovation Crossroads);
  2. EarthEn Energy (Innovation Crossroads);
  3. Endeavor Composites Inc. (UTRF and Innovation Crossroads);
  4. Orion Therapeutics Inc. (UTRF);
  5. Skuld LLC (Innovation Crossroads); and
  6. Vitriform3D (UTRF and Innovation Crossroads).
