Robots are coming to K-town as RobotLAB settles into new office space
The company celebrated with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, November 20.
Fifteen-year-old RobotLAB cut the ribbon on a new location in Knoxville on Wednesday. The new office will be led by local aviation expert and United States Veteran Mike McLaughlin.
RobotLAB launched a nationwide expansion initiative in 2023 to meet the growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics in business solutions. The company’s goal is to increase access to automation and operational efficiency solutions like cleaning, delivery, and customer service robots throughout Knoxville.
“We want businesses of all sizes and industries to be able to have access to robotic technologies for efficiency,” McLaughlin told teknovation.biz.
In addition to Knoxville, RobotLAB has numerous locations in the pipeline in Colorado, Florida, Nevada and Texas, underscoring the growing demand for innovative robotic technologies in key economies across the U.S.
“Knoxville is rapidly becoming one of the South’s leading entrepreneurial and innovation hubs, and business owners, employees and locals all stand to benefit from a robot’s ability to reduce inefficiency, perform menial tasks and enhance the customer experience,” said Elad Inbar, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of RobotLAB. He flew into Knoxville to celebrate the opening of the new loctaion, and specifically McLaughlin’s role in leading it.
“Mike’s aviation experience and local ties will be valuable assets in introducing RobotLAB Knoxville‘s expansive robotics catalog to the diverse and innovative community,” Inbar said.
The new location will allow McLaughlin and his team to deliver to Knoxville-area businesses RobotLAB’s robots, including sales, tailored programming, onsite integration and repairs. Mots local business owners prefer to test the robots in their businesses before fully integrating. Now, with an East Tennessee location RobotLAB will be able to offer that service to regional customers.
“The University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory attract vibrant, clever minds to Knoxville, many of whom are responsible for the city’s innovations and future-focused thinking,” said McLaughlin. “I’m honored to facilitate RobotLAB’s joining of forces with Knoxville’s warm, welcoming and imaginative community, and look forward to integrating valuable robotics solutions that will improve the lives of business owners, employees and customers.”
