News Roundup: Student start-ups and women in tech

The Weekend News Roundup features stories related to local business, technology, entrepreneurship, economy, events, and innovation.

Startup Studio

On Friday, September 20th at the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m., the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ACEI) will host the “Startup Studio Demo Day,” celebrating the graduating companies in the inaugural Startup Studio.

Over the summer, ten startups took their idea to market, and now, they’re ready to present their start-ups to the community.

Teknovation.biz interviewed Haseeb (HQ) Qureshi in May, ahead of the Startup Studio debut (see article here).

“For a lot of these students, they may have a product or business idea, but they don’t know what the customer wants. This program will be about creating the product, getting it into the customer’s hands, and adapting to feedback,” Qureshi said back in May.
