News & Notes 2 | UT at Chattanooga hosting “Inventanooga 2024” on Thursday

The deadline to apply for the next cohorts of five Nashville Entrepreneur Center accelerators is also on Thursday.

From Chattanooga:

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s (UTC) Gary W. Rollins College of Business, in partnership with STEM School Chattanooga, will host “Inventanooga 2024,” a dynamic student pitch competition that highlights some of Tennessee’s brightest young minds.

Scheduled for Thursday, December 12, on the UTC campus, this annual event gives K-12 students the chance to pitch innovative solutions, inventions, and business ideas aimed at solving real-world problems. Participants will compete for prizes while gaining invaluable experience and feedback. This year, students from 12 schools from across the Chattanooga region will participate.

The event will be held in UTC’s Engineering and Computer Science Building, 735 Vine Street. The pitch competition begins at 1 p.m. EST in the Benwood and Card Auditoriums followed by the poster presentations and audience voting at 2″40 p.m. The awards ceremony and reception will start at 3 p.m. in the Benwood Auditorium.

From Franklin:

The Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council has announced that its annual meeting will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. CST on March 5 at Schneider Electric’s Nashville Hub, 6700 Tower Circle, Franklin. Program and speaker details will be announced later.

From Nashville:

The application deadline is later this week for the next cohorts of the five accelerator programs offered by the Nashville Entrepreneur Center (EC). Ahead of the application deadline on December 14, the EC is holding a webinar from 1 to 2 p.m. CST December 11. From Memphis:

Demo Day for participants in the ZeroTo510 MedTech Accelerator will occur this Thursday night at The Cadre Building. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. CST with the program beginning at 5 p.m. Four companies – Corami, MedTech Solutions, Motus, and PopCheck Technologies – will showcase the progress they have made.

After Demo Day, Epicenter, the organization that runs the accelerator, will devote the next two hours to its holiday reception at the same venue. To register for one or both events, click on this link.

Registration has opened for the third annual DriveElectricTN Momentum Summit at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. Organized by the Drive Electric Tennessee (DET) initiative, the event on June 24 will focus on transportation electrification efforts including economic and environmental benefits, infrastructure progress, and research into transportation electrification at Tennesse colleges and universities.
