LaunchTN announces SBIR and STTR Matching Program will start accepting applications July 19
Here’s a heads-up for recent winners of federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) awards.
Launch Tennessee has announced that it will reopen applications for the state’s “SBIR and STTR Matching Program,” which the organization administers, on July 19. Readers should recall that the program was suspended last fiscal year in response to the uncertainty about state revenues as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021-22 state budget, passed by the Tennessee General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Bill Lee, restored the original funding and provided an increase to $7 million for the current year.
Ahead of opening applications in less than two weeks, Launch Tennessee has posted guidelines at this link. Among the most important items is this one: “Company’s SBIR/STTR Notice of Award date must be between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2021. Applications with a Notice of Award date after June 30, 2021 will be considered on a case by case basis, pending funding availability.”
