Grow Bioplastics secures its first Phase I SBIR award
Grow Bioplastics announced yesterday that the Knoxville area start-up had just won a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) award from the National Science Foundation.
It is the first such award for the company co-founded by Tony Bova and Jeff Beegle. Up to now, the start-up that is focused on developing lignin-based biodegradable plastics for agricultural applications had relied almost exclusively on monies won in pitch competitions around the country.
To learn more about the $225,000 award, read yesterday’s news release from Grow Bioplastics (Grow Bioplastics SBIR Award). We’ll also have a broader update on the company in the next week.
