Graves suggests ideas be vetted against the PEST acronym
At Tuesday night’s kick-off for the University of Tennessee’s “Fall Vol Court” lecture series, Tom Graves, Operations Director for the sponsoring Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, used a catchy acronym to help guide the thinking of the student entrepreneurs. He urged them to vet their ideas through four change lenses – political, economic, societal, and technological. So, if you haven’t guessed by now, the acronym is PEST! Seems like a pretty good way to determine if you have a disruptive idea. Is it a pest to the existing market?
