Flywheel welcomes latest cohort of sustainability-focused businesses
It’s the organization's fourth accelerator since the program launched in 2020.
Five start-ups have been selected for a local accelerator program tailored for sustainability-focused businesses and innovations.
Flywheel’s Sustainable Cincy Accelerator, an eight-week offering, kicked off in late September, and the latest cohort includes companies tackling issues like sustainable housing, waste reduction, and alternative plastics. It’s the organization’s fourth cohort since the program launched in 2020.
“We searched far and wide to find a diverse group of founders, from startup veterans to talented first-timers – a rising star from Dayton, a returning founder from Taiwan, fast-growing operators from Northern KY, and UC (University of Cincinnat)-based researchers developing breakthrough new technologies. These founders are tackling key issues in Greater Cincinnati,” Flywheel wrote in a blog post.
The cohort is comprised of:
-
Sunflower Fuels, led by Chief Executive Officer Gabrielle Blocher and Founders Tim Donovan, Brutus Clay III, Andrew Ritch, Chris Brown, and Andy Holzhauser.
-
Mod Fab, Inc., founded by Kémo A’akhuter.
-
X-Inator, co-founded by Kridayesh Kumar, William Mattis, Sebastian Padron, and Roe Omessi.
-
Greenway Innovations, co-founded by Alison Connor and Kevin Connor.
-
Ecoshell LLC, founded by Andrew Bliss.
