ACEI Bridging Research & Practice
February 12 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (ACEI) aims to foster dialogue between academics and practitioners about the challenges entrepreneurs face and the related findings from our research that may help entrepreneurs prepare for and address those challenges. This annual event series creates an opportunity for both researchers and practitioners in our community to bring value to one another. The ‘Bridging Research & Practice’ event series is where professionals and researchers from diverse industries come together to forge meaningful connections, share experiences, and strengthen their networks.
About this event:
Entrepreneurship involves taking risks, where investments of time, effort, finances, and relationships can seem risky in the short term but are crucial for long-term success. Understanding how to take calculated risks to mitigate potential downsides and optimize potential upsides is essential.
Misty Mayes and John Bruck, and two UT Professors, Brian Krumm and Myra Loveday will help connect and build bridges between entrepreneurship research and practice concerning taking smart risks.
Melissa Cardon, ACEI Research Director and Haslam Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, will host a fireside chat-style dialogue with panelists. This will be followed by smaller group discussions between attendees and panelists and ACEI Research Fellows, each focused on a specific type of risk related to entrepreneurship and innovation.
