Economic Development Administration building a new “University Center Hub” to increase connectivity
The Hub will provide a digital platform for connectivity and cooperation between 73 University Centers and regional stakeholders.
Over their nearly 45 years of existence, the U.S. Economic Development Administration’s (EDA) 73 University Centers (UC) have positioned themselves as critical players supporting technology transfer and commercialization, innovation, and high-growth entrepreneurship. Two of those Centers are located in the Volunteer State.
To better serve and support those in Tennessee and others in the network, EDA’s Research and National Technical Assistance (RNTA) program is awarding $250,461 to Civic Roundtable to create the UC Hub, an innovative project designed to maximize the impact of the UC program. The Hub will provide a digital platform for connectivity and cooperation between University Centers and regional stakeholders, allowing these economic development leaders to share and access resources such as whitepapers and datasets; interact with each other through a facilitated discussion forum; and identify opportunities for collaboration.
The UC Hub will debut in mid-2024.
The two Tennessee UC programs are operated by the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services and the Tennessee Center for Rural Innovation at Tennessee Tech University.
