East Tennessee region places 35 companies on latest Inc. 5000 ranking

They are among the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. between 2020 and 2023.

More than 130 Tennessee-based companies – the vast majority located in the Nashville metropolitan area – made the latest listing of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. as determined by Inc. Magazine.

Released earlier this week, the 43rd annual ranking of the Inc. 5000 is based on each company’s percentage of revenue growth from 2020 to 2023. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2020. They also must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of December 31, 2023.

Nearly two-thirds of those who made this year’s listing – 82 specifically – were located in the greater Nashville area. That included Monogram Health of Brentwood which ranked #3 on the top 5000 with a reported 43,848 percent three-year growth rate. The company provides in-home, multispecialty care for patients with chronic kidney disease and related metabolic and pulmonary conditions.

Closer to home base, 18 companies in the Knoxville area, 15 companies from Chattanooga, and two from Northeast Tennessee made the listing.

  • Sudz, a Greeneville-based manufacturer of motor control centers for the car wash industry, was the highest ranked East Tennessee business, coming in at #351.
  • Big Sky Landscapes of Chattanooga, a commercial and residential landscaping firm, was that region’s highest ranked listee at #416.
  • Vitali Partners of Knoxville came in at #929. The brand includes medical training, live rescue, and training supplies.

Other ranked companies on the list from the Knoxville area were:

The companies from Chattanooga, many in the logistics sector, included:

The other Northeast Tennessee representative was Crown Laboratories of Johnson City that clocked in at #2397.
