Department of Energy announces awards to five companies in the eastern half of Tennessee

The Industrial Assessment Centers (IAC) Implementation Grants are designed to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Five East Tennessee companies are among 115 businesses across 34 states that have been selected to receive a combined total of more than $17 million to implement energy-saving improvements, matched by almost $40 million in industry investment. The awards were announced over three phases starting last October. The most recent recipients were announced last week.

  • Oak Ridge-based Manufacturing Sciences Corporation received $30, 250 in the first round and $162,600 in the latest announcement.
  • Huf North America Automotive Parts Manufacturing Corporation in Greeneville was awarded $166,324 in Round 2.
  • Crossville Inc. in Crossville received $150,000 in Round 1.
  • Jackson Kayak was awarded $2,400 in round 1.

All are providing an equal amount of matching dollars.

Funded by the “Bipartisan Infrastructure Law,” the Industrial Assessment Centers (IAC) Implementation Grants are designed to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The awards were announced by the U.S. Department of Energy.
