CO.LAB announces its “Rural Entrepreneurship Conference”

The event is set for March 11 at Bryan College in Dayton.

Chattanooga’s The Company Lab (CO.LAB) has scheduled an all-day immersive “Rural Entrepreneurship Conference” on March 11 at Bryan College in Dayton.

As referenced in the CO.LAB outlook article published in the January 20, 2025 edition of teknovation.biz, Tasia Malakasis, Chief Executive Officer, said, “We have made a significant commitment to rural entrepreneurship that includes hosting a rural entrepreneurship summit in 2025.”

This event is designed for any legislative, economic, or ecosystem leaders in the counties of Bledsoe, Bradley, Grundy, Hamilton, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Polk, Rhea, andSequatchie. The invitation that we received did note that spots for this conference are limited, so CO.LAB wants additional names of individuals to include. You can send a message to the entrepreneur center at communities@colab.is or you can register at this link.

The program includes four speakers, all with rural economic development experience. They and their topics are:

  1. “Why It’s Important’ with Lynn Chestnutt, Executive Director of the Tennessee Small Business Development Center;
  2. “Creating Effective Rural Entrepreneur Ecosystems” with Bridget Jones, a consultant to the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development;
  3. A case study delivered by Michael Aikens, Director of the Tennessee Center for Rural Innovation at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville; and
  4. An interactive session with Allie Schrenker, Director of Community Engagement at CO.LAB.
