Back-to-back evening celebrations planned for Knoxville entrepreneurial ecosystem
In exactly two weeks, Knoxvillians will have the opportunity for back-to-back nights celebrating the region’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem – those who started here and those who have come here to further advance their businesses.
As noted in today’s feature post, the “Techstars Industries of the Future Accelerator” will showcase the 10 start-ups participating in its inaugural program will an event beginning at 5 p.m. May 26 in the Student Union at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. None of those companies is local. In fact, two came from other countries to spend a little more than three months further advancing their businesses as part of the Techstars global programming. The day before (May 25), the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center is bringing its “#MadeforKnoxville” project live and in-person with an event beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Pretentious Beer Company, 131 South Central Street. Four local entrepreneurs will share their journeys in growing their start-ups here. They are:
- Matthew Cummings, Founder of Pretentious Beer + Glass;
- Eugenia Almeida, Founder of A New Hue;
- Tommy Nguyen, Founder of StoragePug; and
- Kandis Troutman, Chief Consulting Officer at The Creative Architect LLC.
