Applications open for THE WORKS accelerator

The eight-week program engages participants with industry leaders, seasoned mentors, and investors to grow their business.

The Knoxville Entrepreneur Center has opened applications for the 2025 edition of THE WORKS, an accelerator for high-potential start-ups focused on customer insights, industry connections, and investment readiness.

Over eight weeks, founders will engage with industry leaders, seasoned mentors, and investors, gaining the tools and confidence they need to refine their business models, strengthen go-to-market strategies, and craft an investable pitch deck.

“The WORKS 2025 accelerator is designed for founders who are ready to move beyond theory and into execution. If you’re serious about growth, customer experience, and market impact, this is where you need to be,” says Abhijit (AV) Verekar, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Avero Advisors and THE WORKS Lead Growth Advisor.

He is joined by other mentors including:

  1. Haseeb Qureshi, Lead Insight Advisor;
  2. Patrick Hunt, Lead Strategy Advisor;
  3. Martha Weeks, Lead Communication Advisor;
  4. Brandon Bruce, Lead Capital Advisor; and
  5. Chris McAdoo, Lead Facilitator.

Applications close after April 11, and the program kicks off of June 11.

The schedule is as follows:

  1. Week of June 18: BrandCamp.
  2. Week of June 25: Customer Discovery and Experience.
  3. Week of July 9: Field Trip to Corporate Partner Headquarters.
  4. Week of July 16: Sales and Go-to-Market.
  5. Week of July 23: Pitching with Clarity and Confidence.
  6. Week of July 30: Field Trip to 121 Tech Hub.
  7. Week of August 6: Operations, Systems, and Intellectual Property.
  8. Week of August 13: Pitch Practice.
  9. August 20: Demo Day at the Square Room.
