Annual report shows Tennessee landed 67 new projects in 2024

Those projects generated $7.2 billion in capital investment and 9,666 new jobs.

The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) has issued its annual report for 2024.

In distributing the document in the Department’s “Weekly Recap” email on Friday, Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter noted that “2024 economic activity slowed as companies delayed decisions as is common during a federal election year. TNECD landed 67 projects, generating $7.2 billion in capital investment and 9,666 new jobs.”

In addition to tying Shelby County for the highest number of projects last year, Wilson County also landed the highest number of net new jobs among all other counties in Tennessee with a total of nearly 2,000.

The full report can be found here.
