Tricia Martinez-Saab leaves Techstars to start a new venture

She served as Managing Director during the first two cohorts of the "Techstars Industries of the Future Accelerator."

Tricia Martinez-Saab, who served as Managing Director during the first two years of the three-year run of the “Techstars Industries of the Future Accelerator,” announced on social media that she has left Techstars to launch a new start-up.

“As any entrepreneur knows, the itch to build is always there,” she writes. “That’s why I’m stepping away from Techstars and diving into what’s next. I’m now building in stealth mode, focusing on the future of innovation and scalable solutions. While I can’t share all the details just yet, I can promise big things are on the horizon—and I can’t wait to share more soon. To those who’ve been part of this chapter, and to those who will join me in the next one: here’s to dreaming big and building even bigger.”

After managing the Knoxville-based program for two years, Martinez-Saab relocated to Chicago where she led two other Techstars accelerators in the Windy City.

She thanked the founders and other colleagues with whom she had worked at Techstars. She summarized the work this way:

  1. Leading six accelerators, helping founders turn bold ideas into scalable businesses.
  2. Investing in 80+ start-ups, including standouts like Spiky.AI, Crow Industries, Arvist, WingDriver, Lenme, Guama, Meta-flux (and the list could go on!), who are reshaping industries from drug discovery to climate tech.
  3. Partnering with eight world-class corporations, including J.P. Morgan, NVIDIA, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), to drive transformative innovation.

In addition to ORNL, the “Techstars Industries of the Future Accelerator” was funded by the Tennessee Valley Authority and the University of Tennessee System.
