Six start-ups vying for dollars in this week’s “Start Here Pitch Competition”

The event is November 20 at 37 Cedar Restaurant and Bar in Cookeville.

Six start-ups will unveil their aspirations during this week’s “Start Here Pitch Competition” organized by The Biz Foundry in Cookeville in partnership with the Tennessee Center for Rural Innovation at Tennessee Tech University.

The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. CST on November 20 at 37 Cedar Restaurant and Bar in Cookeville. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. CST, and the free admission includes a taco bar. To register, click here.

The six pitchers include local, regional, and national start-ups looking to start in the Upper Cumberland region. They will pitch their businesses to a panel of judges for the opportunity to win either $10,000, $5,000, or $2.500, as well as an opportunity to pitch to the Upper Cumberland Angel Investors Fund. They are:

  1. AgriSmart Analytics in Cookeville, founded by Michael Nattrass, empowers farmers with a secure platform to manage farm data and make smarter, more sustainable decisions. By harnessing blockchain, Michael’s mission is to help farmers optimize their operations and even earn from anonymized data insights.
  2. Founded by David Drennan from Byrdstown, Fly View Ventures is developing an innovative system that combines tower, drone, and software technology to transform travel experiences. His goal is to create immersive, aerial views for travelers worldwide.
  3. ScoriFi, founded by Sree Reddy, a resident of Nashville, is an artificial intelligence-powered platform helping health-conscious consumers make smarter, sustainable food choices. With personalized food scoring and partnerships with food brands, ScoriFi empowers users to shop sustainably and eat well.
  4. Mountain Top Candle Shop, led by Lyndsee Campbell, a Cookeville resident, is more than just candles—it’s a growing wellness brand focused on natural, self-care products. With plans to introduce a plant nursery division, Mountain Top aims to offer year-round products, from wellness candles to vibrant, health-focused plants.
  5. Platformworx, founded by Willis Whited of Alpine, creates high-quality business equipment, serving a global market. Focused on growth, the business is committed to innovation and reliability in every product.
  6. Finally, Quantum Turf, founded by Matthew Martin from Knoxville, is a cutting-edge Software-as-a-Service company designed to serve the specialized turf and ornamentals sector within the agricultural green industry. With a focus on streamlined user experience and user interface (UX/UI), Quantum Turf aims to enhance operational efficiency and data-driven insights for professionals across the U.S.
