H Venture Studio focused on second biggest challenge to humanity

Cincy Inno reports that H Venture Partners has launched a new venture studio, considered the first of its kind across the globe, and recruited a former Procter & Gamble executive to lead it.
Noting that antibiotic resistance is the second biggest threat to humanity after climate change, the women-founded, -owned, and -operated venture capital firm has appointed Betsy Bluestone as Managing Director of H Venture Studio to spearhead its efforts in creating consumer brands that combat microbiome imbalances. She joins H Venture Partners after a more than 30-year P&G career where she most recently served for the last five years as Director of P&G Ventures. In that role, she was responsible for sourcing, screening, and conducting due diligence on potential technologies and startups.
The firm recently received a $10 million award from the State of Ohio for its Brand Fund II, which is still open. It was one of 11 recipients of funding through the Ohio Venture Fund and Ohio Early Stage Focus Fund, and the dollars will be used to invest in companies focused on health care, manufacturing, and food technologies.
According to the article, Elizabeth Edwards, Managing Partner at H Ventures, explained that diseases like cancer, diabetes, obesity, Parkinson’s, depression, and others have all been linked to microbiome imbalances. With this focus, Bluestone, and the H Ventures Studio, plan to develop products that address some of the world’s largest health problems such as oral health, problem skin, body odor, weight loss, allergies and more.
