Knoxville continues to rank high as a retirement destination
City is #41 nationally and #5 among 182 communities in terms of affordability.
Knoxville continues to rank very high as a destination for individuals wanting to retire, according to a new report from WalletHub, the personal financial website. In fact, the city ranks #5 among 182 communities in terms of affordability and #41 overall.
That compares with Chattanooga (#84), Memphis (#129), and Nashville (#137).
The rankings were based on everything from the cost of living and tax laws to the availability of activities and the quality of health care.
The top five cities that are retirement destinations are:
- Orlando, FL;
- Miami, FL;
- Minneapolis, MN;
- Tampa, FL; and
- Fort Lauderdale, FL.
