“The WORKS” Demo Day coming in about a week

Five start-ups will showcase their progress on the afternoon of September 4.

In about a week, the five local companies that have participated in the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center‘s (KEC) annual “The WORKS” accelerator will show the progress they have made at a Demo Day. The doors open at 3:30 p.m. EDT on September 4 at the Square Room on Market Square with the program starting at 4 p.m. To register, click here.

Featured speaker is Dr. Amir Sadovnik, Research Lead for the newly established Center for AI Security Research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. After his presentation, the five teams who began the program on June 12 will make their short pitches. After the five pitches, there will be a happy hour and networking opportunity.

The teams have met at KEC every Wednesday afternoon for three hours in an environment that offered them face-to-face interactions with industry experts, facilitators, and mentors. KEC’s Chief Experience Officer Chris McAdoo has led The Works, along with successful entrepreneurs and subject matter experts including Patrick Hunt, Ashleigh Walters, Courtney Jones, Jenna Johns, Melissa Centers, and many more.
