Calling all restaurant owners

Knox County restauranteurs are invited to participate in the 21st Annual “Dine Out for Education” on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. The promotion is a joint effort of Knox County Schools and the Partners in Education (PIE) Foundation, and in the past has raised nearly $20,000 from approximately 45 participating restaurants. Restaurants are asked to contribute 10 percent of their pre-tax proceeds on August 27.

Dine Out for Education flyers, social posts, and other marketing efforts will promote the event to the families of our 58,000 students, 7,900 employees, and to more than 550 businesses and organizations in the PIE database.

Proceeds help fund Partners in Education Foundation projects, which allow teachers and principals to request funding for needs that their budget does not often cover including technology, professional development, and playground equipment.

For more information, visit the PIE website.

Momentum for your business

Morning Momentum occurs every first Wednesday at 9 a.m. EDT at the On Broadway event center. It is designed to help small businesses and entrepreneurs overcome growth-related challenges by presenting their issues to seasoned business leaders for immediate feedback. As an attendee, you will hear two business owners share details about the barriers hindering their business’s growth. You will then have the opportunity to leverage your expertise by sharing actionable insights to help presenters overcome obstacles.

The Knoxville Chamber is looking for business owners to sign up for the first session.

Presenters have eight minutes to share the problem(s) that are preventing their business from growing. This is not a pitch. Presenters will then be provided with feedback from the audience to address their challenges. If you want to apply to present, please fill out the short application at this link.
