RegScale achieves highest stamp of approval available to compliance companies

RegScale is one of, if not the smallest company on the The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP®) marketplace.

A Knoxville-based tech start-up is now in the process of receiving the highest stamp of approval possible by the federal government. The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP®) is a government-wide security and risk assessment program that is mandatory for all cloud service providers used by Federal agencies. It was announced last week that RegScale received FedRAMP High with an “In Progress” designation.

This is a significant accomplishment for a start-up, especially given the usual cost and time constraints associated with such certifications.

“By leveraging our technology, we’ve achieved what was previously thought unattainable for a Series A startup like ours – FedRAMP authorization without the hefty price tag,” stated Travis Howerton, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of RegScale. “Accomplishing an In-Process FedRAMP High designation exemplifies the power of continuous controls monitoring and positions us as a model for other cloud service providers aiming to expand into the U.S. Federal market. We’re proving that compliance can be efficient, faster, approachable, and cost-effective.”

The process for achieving FedRAMP Authority to Operate (ATO) typically consists of a lengthy timeline – between 18 months and three years. RegScale managed to do it with its CCM platform as one of the smallest companies in the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP®) marketplace. Furthermore, they generated and submitted the FedRAMP High package three times faster than the average company and did so at 50 percent less cost.

RegScale’s CCM platform was instrumental in achieving this efficiency. The platform automates compliance processes, uses AI for enhanced compliance features, and facilitates machine-to-machine communication (compliance as code). This automation reduces manual compliance tasks and human errors, enabling a rapid submission of the FedRAMP High package.

Earlier this year, RegScale also announced it had achieved SOC 2 Type II Certification using its CCM platform, reducing preparation time by 94 percent.

“With RegScale CCM, organizations can confidently accelerate their compliance journey, making it an easy choice for those seeking to streamline the complexities and overcome the challenges of achieving FedRAMP certification,” Howerton said.
