News & Notes | Ticket prices rise soon for “Startup Mountain Summit”

Nashville's HeroWear, an exosuit technology and solutions company, has hired the company’s first Chief Operating Officer.

FoundersForge reminded people on Friday that early bird ticket pricing for the second annual “Startup Mountain Summit” ends in ONE WEEK. “This is your last chance to get your ticket for only $65,” the email read. “Prices jump to $150 at the end of the month, so don’t miss out on this chance to save.”

HeroWear, an exosuit technology and solutions company, has announced that John Heller will serve as the company’s first Chief Operating Officer. In this new role, he will lead operations, finance, and human resources, implementing strategies to drive long-term growth by supporting the scalable adoption of exosuits and recurring services across many industries and applications.

Heller, a retired Colonel in the U.S. Army, will leverage his 30+ years of experience in finance and operations to meet the needs of current and potential customers worldwide. He has led operations and finance teams within publicly traded companies and high-growth start-ups. At Keurig Green Mountain, Heller gained significant expertise with the operational challenges of selling patented technology products during numerous back-to-back years of hyper-revenue growth.

The Business and Economic Research Center (BERC) at Middle Tennessee State University was recently awarded the “Community, Economic, and Workforce Research Award” for its 2023 Wage and Benefit Survey at the annual Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) Conference in Norfolk, VA. The organization presents awards in six categories, with MTSU’s BERC receiving an award in the category for projects supporting collaborative and community research initiatives that have brought together different groups or organizations to achieve a common goal. BERC was awarded for the project’s response to a demonstrated need, quality, and collaborative approach.

In cooperation with the Middle Tennessee Industrial Development Association, BERC’s study surveyed human resource professionals to provide region-specific reports on the human resource practices and compensation structures of manufacturing and industrial companies across Middle Tennessee.
