Augment Health secures investment from Vanderbilt University

The medical technology company is developing next-generation urologic monitoring tools for patients with chronic conditions.

Augment Health Inc., a medical technology company developing next-generation urologic monitoring tools for patients with chronic conditions, recently announced an investment from Vanderbilt University’s Innovation Investment Committee (IIC).

The investment follows milestones the company achieved in 2023, including a pre-clinical animal study demonstrating the technology’s accuracy, an assessment of existing health insurance coverage reimbursement models, and pre-submission work for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Founded in 2021 by Jared Meyers and Stephen Kalinsky, biomedical engineering graduates of the Georgia Institute of Technology, the company joined the ZeroTo510 accelerator program in Memphis post-graduation. In 2023, Augment relocated to Nashville to join Vanderbilt University’s The Wond’ry Center of Innovation where it was selected to participate in the Founder Program.

Looking toward 2024, Kalinsky, Augment Health’s Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, said, “The investment will be instrumental to developing a commercially viable product ready for clinical studies.” The company’s other Co-Founder is Myers, who also serves as Chief Executive Officer. “The IIC investment marks the next stage in Augment’s progress,” he said, adding, “We are excited by the strong support from the start-up ecosystem in Nashville.”
