Arizona’s Advanced Manufacturing Accelerator secures four big corporate partners

NXP® Semiconductors is the latest addition to the group that includes Intel, Honeywell Aerospace, and Raytheon Missiles & Defense.

Here’s an interesting manufacturing-focused initiative.

Operating under the Plug and Play accelerateAZ banner, the initiative of the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) has four corporate partners with the most recent announcement that NXP® Semiconductors has joined with previously-announced partners Intel, Honeywell Aerospace, and Raytheon Missiles & Defense. They are collectively focused on something called the Advanced Manufacturing Accelerator program, a three-month program with a curriculum focused on business development, strategic growth, and networking.

Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Plug and Play has more than 50 locations across five continents where it offers corporate innovation programs and helps its corporate partners in every stage of their innovation journey, from education to execution. Plug and Play also organizes start-up acceleration programs and has built an in-house venture capital program to drive innovation across multiple industries.

Since launching the Advanced Manufacturing Accelerator program in April 2023, Plug and Play accelerateAZ has selected two cohorts of 26 start-ups that completed curriculum focused on workforce training, supply chain visibility, predictive maintenance, robotics, and automation.

In December, Plug and Play accelerateAZ announced a new sustainability program that will support the growth of Arizona sustainability-focused start-ups. The new program, which will launch in Spring 2024, will support start-ups in the areas of renewable energy, water resiliency, sustainable mining, circular materials and carbon neutrality. The program will accelerate two batches of start-ups per year, connecting them to leading corporate partners to foster collaborations.
