Appalachian Startup Alliance launched in Northeast Tennessee
The new initiative is designed to be a network of support for rural entrepreneurs across the Appalachian Highlands region.
FoundersForge in Johnson City has announced the launch of an initiative named the Appalachian Start-up Alliance.
Described by the organization says its purpose is to champion underdog entrepreneurs, the Alliance is a network of support for rural entrepreneurs across the Appalachian Highlands region.
“By centralizing communication, assets, courses, and other resources, we hope to connect entrepreneurial communities across our region,” the organizers write in their email announcing the initiative. “The Alliance is free for anyone to join and provides a place to connect, a start-up directory, a press contacts directory, and access to remote programs across five states. The Alliance also strives to expand venture capital, grant, and other funding opportunities for startups in the near future.”
In conjunction with its launch, the Alliance also announced the “12 In 24 Challenge.” Participants will work the entire year in 2024 to launch 12 projects. They can be anything, as long as the work is out there for the public to see. Those who join the Challenge, which is being run by software development group TriDev and Code & Coffee, will meet once a month to talk about progress.
