Southeast Shoutouts | Dig South announces the inaugural “Charleston AI Summit”
Raleigh Founded, a co-working provider in North Carolina's capital city, has moved to a newer 36,000-square-foot space.
From Charleston, SC:
Dig South has announced that it will host the inaugural “Charleston AI Summit” on March 27 and 28 at the Sottile Theatre on the College of Charleston campus. “Following 12 years of presenting sessions on AI (artificial intelligence), GenAI, and machine learning, and seven jam-packed sessions on GenAI in 2023, we’re doubling down on the most important technology of the 21st century,” the organization famous for its Dig South Summit writes. The sessions will focus on: (1) learning how to accelerate business growth using today’s AI solutions; (2) understanding the power of Generative AI and its positive impact; and (3) staying relevant.
From Raleigh, NC:
Raleigh Founded, a co-working provider, recently left its flagship Warehouse District location to move into a new building. With a large classroom, meeting rooms, event space and offices for teams of up to 50 people, Raleigh Founded’s new digs provide ample room for growth as the organization broadens its footprint.
According to an article in WRAL TechWire, the 36,000-square-foot space is about a five-minute drive north of the old location, which opened in 2012 and steadily expanded to more than 1,000 members. Raleigh Founded Executive Director Lauren Romer says the search for a new home started a few years ago after the team learned of major renovations coming to the block where it had been located.
Raleigh Founded members, who range from solopreneurs and freelancers to start-up teams and tech resource tenants, aren’t tied to one space. They can access all of the brand’s co-working spots across the Triangle, including its Capital Club office space in downtown Raleigh, Gateway on Crabtree Boulevard, and a hub on North Carolina State University’s Centennial Campus available to students and members.
From Miami, FL:
Miami Inno reports that Endeavor Miami has received a $500,000 funding commitment from JPMorgan Chase to support programming for underrepresented entrepreneurs in South Florida. The two-year investment will fund scholarships for founders participating in EndeavorLAB, a cohort-based program that offers training and mentorship to Black, Hispanic and women founders.
It is part of the bank’s $10 million donation to Tech Equity Miami, a consortium directing millions in philanthropic funding to organizations that connect locals and people of color with careers in the technology industry.
From Cincinnati, OH:
Pete Blackshaw, who was named in late 2018 as the successor to Wendy Lea at Cintrifuse, has announced that he will be leaving the Chief Executive Officer role at the end of March “to pursue some exciting new opportunities driven by the #AI revolution. There is one particular idea that I can’t stop thinking about — the intersection of AI (artificial intelligence), trust and sustainability — themes that have animated, focused and inspired me for decades,” he wrote in a LinkedIn post. Longtime readers of teknovation.biz may recall that Lea keynoted the first and only “Future865” forum in Knoxville during the 2017 “Innov865 Week.”
