K Brew celebrating a decade in business
The Knoxville-based coffee chain is celebrating by giving you a free bagel and coffee for one day only.
October 19 is the 10th anniversary of the founding of Knoxville’s K Brew coffee chain, and you can celebrate with free coffee and bagels in every store.
As noted in this June 23 teknovation.biz article, Pierce and Michael LaMacchia founded the company with the original business model being a mobile coffee hut – literally. K Brew now has four storefront locations and was ranked 9th out of 40 businesses in the inaugural “Rocky Top Business Awards” that recognized UTK’s fastest-growing, alumni-owned or alumni-led businesses. PYA, the power behind teknovation.biz, helped create the program and tabulated the results.
We caught up with Pierce earlier this week and asked him his thoughts on reaching this milestone anniversary.
“We are so grateful to Knoxville for supporting us over the last decade,” he said. “This city has changed a lot in the last 10 years, and I’d like to believe we had a role to play in that growth, by fueling countless meetings with our coffee and bagels. No matter what I’m working on, my proudest moments are seeing human connection occur inside our stores – smiling faces, discussion, and people connecting with each other. This is our ultimate mission at K Brew, and I’ve been honored to lead us in that mission for 10 years. I’m hoping for many more years of providing our city a place for human connection.”
From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, your K Brew order of a bagel, spread, and coffee is free at all locations as a thanks to customers for growing the local chain. Alongside these free offerings, staff will also be randomly giving away ten $100 gift cards to K Brew guests who come celebrate.
