Here’s a piece of trivia for your dinner conversation.

If we asked you where the Volunteer State ranks on cellphone usage per person, would your answer be high, moderate, or low? Well, we have the answer, thanks to a study conducted by Amerisleep, a mattress and bedding company.

Tennessee is just slightly above the middle, ranking #20 in the nation. That ranking was based on an analysis of web search data where users were seeking solutions for some problem with their mobile device.

Topping the list is Nevada with relevant searches reaching an average monthly volume of 462.56 per 100,000 residents. At the other end is West Virginia with an average monthly search volume of 191.39 per 100,000 residents.

“Using our data, we concluded that the entire United States had an average monthly search volume of 309.41 per 100,000 residents,” the authors wrote. Almost half of the states had an average monthly search volume that falls below this final number.”

In the case of Tennessee, the monthly search volume was reported as 324.18.

Georgia was the highest-ranked Southeastern state, placing third, followed by Florida (#4), North Carolina (#8), Alabama (#11), South Carolina (#13), and Virginia (#18).
