Inaugural “The Crown Pitch Competition” coming June 19
The event is a collaboration between The Women and the Shora Foundation with core sponsorships from River and Rail Theatre/Old City Performing Arts Center and the East Tennessee Foundation.
The Women and Shora Foundation will hold the inaugural “The Crown Pitch Competition” beginning at 6 p.m. June 19 at the Old City Performing Arts Center, 111 State Street, Knoxville.
According to the announcement, the event is designed to do more than provide a seat at the table for Black-owned businesses. It is also intended to open doors and build relationships that can lead to a long-term and sustainable business.
“The Crown Pitch Competition” sponsors include River and Rail Theatre/Old City Performing Arts Center, where the event will be held, and the East Tennessee Foundation.
Judges for the event are:
- April Hardin, Owner of the Dream Institute, a salon and beauty school;
- Angelique Adams, Chief Executive Officer of Angelique Adams Media Solutions and 20-year executive with ALCOA; and
- Kenneth Herring, Managing Director of the venue where the competition will be held and a 10-year veteran of the information technology sector.
