Yee-Haw Brewing opens Knoxville location
After what seems like the longest wait of all time for Tennessee beer lovers, Johnson City-based Yee-Haw Brewing Co. is now open in North Knoxville.
The brewery announced it would move into the former home of Elkmont Exchange at the end of 2020. The time is finally here, with some fun surprises for future patrons.
Inside Knoxville reports that the world-famous Nashville-based Prince’s Hot Chicken is serving food inside Yee-Haw, along with not hot burgers and other local options.
Frequenters of this Central Avenue beer corridor remember the large gravel parking lot between Elkmont and Central Filling Station. That’s now a massive outdoor bar and entertainment space, which Inside Knoxville reports can hold 700 people for events like concerts and football game watch parties.
UTK’s business school ranks high nationally
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Haslam College of Business premiered at 4th overall and 2nd among public universities in the U.S. News Best Online Graduate Business Programs ranking.
This ranking was based on data from the college’s master’s in Supply Chain Management Online program and marks the first time the program was eligible to be included in the ranking. The supply chain management programs are consistently ranked among the highest in the nation and the world for their industry-relevant curriculum, innovative research, and custom programs.
Regal to hold Best Picture Film Festival ahead of the 2023 Academy Awards
Ten movies were nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture this year, and if you missed their theatrical debuts, Regal is giving you a second chance to catch them on the big screen.
From March 3 through March 12, two to three of the nominated films will be on rotation each day at select Regal theaters. Tickets are $6 per movie or $5 for Regal Crown Club members. In Knoxville, all these films will be shown at the Downtown West theater.
Apply now for a SMaRT Internship
The University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute (UT-ORII) is looking for the nation’s best and brightest undergraduates for its 2023 Student Mentoring and Research Training (SMaRT) Summer Internship program.
SMaRT interns have the unique opportunity to work daily with researchers from ORNL and UT for 10 weeks over the summer. Interns receive a stipend, housing, and an allowance for travel to and from Knoxville, Tennessee.
Forty qualified candidates will be selected for our 2023 SMaRT summer program. Rising college sophomores, juniors, and seniors can apply here.
Two Knoxvillians named to Tennessee Business Roundtable
The Tennessee Business Roundtable now has new leaders, two of whom call Knoxville home.
M. Edward Jett, CEO of MBI Companies Inc., is the organization’s Secretary. Jordan Mollenhour, Co-CEO of Mollenhour Gross LLC, is the East Tennessee Regional Vice President.
The Roundtable advances ideas and policies that will have long-term benefits for the statewide economy and local communities.
