Deciding which meeting to take and those to decline is subject of this recent column
Joe Procopio, Chief Product Officer at Get Spiffy and Founder of teachingstartup.com, writes a weekly column for WRAL TechWire. One of his most recent ones addressed the challenge that all entrepreneurs, as well as any business executive, face: striking “a balance between drowning in meetings and being a meeting Scrooge.”
The column (click here) notes that there are basically three types of meetings:
- Help: One side needs something from the other.
- Business: There is mutual benefit for both sides.
- Curiosity: There is interest on one or both sides to learn more about the other.
“Any other reason to meet is kind of a waste of time, as cynical as that sounds,” Procopio writes.
