St. Louis adds another leg to its major R&D efforts
The St. Louis Regional Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Center (AMICSTL), an organization created to establish a robust advanced manufacturing sector in the region, has tapped two local universities to co-lead research and development for the venture.
The new Center is the third leg or triangle of a massive R&D effort in the heart of the St. Louis region, joining the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s west campus (Next NGA West) and the rapidly growing biotechnology sector in the Cortex Innovation Community. The manufacturing innovation center will add to the region’s long-held strengths in aerospace, transportation and agriculture technology.
Saint Louis University and the University of Missouri–St. Louis will lead the R&D work.
