Purdue Research Foundation names new Senior VP
A nine-year veteran of the Purdue Research Foundation‘s Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC) has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Commercialization. In her new role, Brooke Beier will add oversight for the Purdue Foundry to her duties. OTC evaluates, protects and licenses Purdue intellectual property; the Foundry is an entrepreneurship and commercialization hub that helps Purdue innovators create start-ups.
According to a news release announcing the additional duties for Beier, Purdue explained that “the common leadership will continue to align and further the coordination between the two commercialization engines.” Beier has progressed rapidly at OTC, starting as a Business Development Manager before successively serving as Assistant Director of Business Development, Interim Director, Executive Director and Vice President at OTC.
Since she joined OTC in 2013, the number of patent applications and licensed technologies has doubled, invention disclosures have grown by 50 percent, and issued U.S. patents and Purdue IP-based start-ups have tripled.
