Virginia Tech, UAB honored for their entrepreneurship programs

Universities in two neighboring states were honored earlier this month by the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE).

Virginia Tech received the “Model Program Award” from the organization, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham was recognized with the “Model Emerging Program Award.” They were two of the four institutions cited by USASBE for bold and innovative programs making an impact in the field of entrepreneurship education with comprehensive, high-quality educational programs that successfully train future generations of entrepreneurs.

Other honorees were Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts with the “Excellence in Pedagogical Innovation Award” and Northwestern University with the “Excellence in Co-Curricular Innovation Award.”

For Virginia Tech, the award is the most recent in a string of acknowledgments that its entrepreneurship programs have received. Last November, the institution was ranked #25 for undergraduate entrepreneurship programs in Princeton Review’s rankings for 2022, marking the second straight year it received the ranking.
