Launch Tennessee announces details of its first-ever “Innovation Week”
Launch Tennessee has announced preliminary plans for its first-ever “Innovation Week.”
Scheduled for March 21 – 24 in Nashville, it is described as “for and about Tennessee entrepreneurs and the communities that support them across our state.” The event could be viewed as an expansion and enhancement of the annual effort where Launch Tennessee and its partners, including regional entrepreneur centers, come to Nashville to meet with legislators and elevate the visibility of innovation and start-up activities in the Volunteer State.
Plans are still evolving, but it is hoped that individuals will arrive on March 21 for several days of activities that begin on March 22. Nothing formal is currently planned for March 21, but participants will gather at ground zero – the Westin Hotel in Downtown Nashville – for a series of meetings and events on March 22. Those activities include:
- A joint luncheon meeting with Life Science Tennessee which is holding its annual “LSTCON” event that same day at the Westin (details on that event can be found here);
- Roundtables for campus-based participants as well as those involved in technology transfer; and
- Meet-ups for and with Launch Tennessee’s network partners and portfolio companies.
March 22 will conclude with a reception.
The venue for March 23 shifts to the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum near the State Capitol, specifically in the Nashville Municipal Auditorium for those old enough to recall the venue in its heyday. Activities include:
- A series of fireside chats where attendees will learn the latest on commercialization, funding opportunities, and emerging industries in the ecosystem of start-ups, investors, and entrepreneur centers from across the state;
- A “Start-up Showcase” featuring booths spotlighting many of Tennessee’s most innovative earlier stage companies;
- Luncheon; and
- Evening reception for state legislators and other dignitaries.
March 24 is a half day where attendees will be invited to meet with state legislators in one-on-one small sessions.
Registration is free at this link.
