Two Alabama tech-focused organizations form collaboration to help the state
Leaders in Alabama’s largest city and its State Capital are banding together to develop and expand the state’s emerging technology, innovation and entrepreneurial programs. The new initiative, named “Alabama Collective,” is a collaboration between TechMGM and TechBirmingham.
According to this recent news article, the two organizations will host a series of community conversations to grow the talent base and empower Alabama’s promising innovators and entrepreneurs. The inaugural conversation has already been held and featured Haley Kendrick of Bronze Valley, Nichole Thompson from The Lab on Dexter, Marcus Shaw and Rashim McKinney of Montgomery TechLab, and Waymond Jackson from EdFarm. The second conversation will be on October 29 in Birmingham with the third set for November 24 in Montgomery.
Why collaborate rather than compete? Deon Gordon, President and Chief Executive Officer of TechBirmingham, had a great answer. “We are stronger together and TechBirmingham is proud to partner with TechMGM as we work to position our collective region as the hub of inclusive innovation.”
