Addressing the “great resignation” trend requires creating an employee-focused culture
Donald Thompson writes in this column from WRAL TechWire that “economists are calling it the Great Resignation: a post-pandemic wave of people quitting their jobs to find more fulfilling positions.”
Citing research by Gallup, he notes that “48% of America’s working population is actively job searching or watching for opportunities,” and a recent jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that 3.9 million people quit their jobs in June. The single most impacted sector is professional and business services, specifically tech.
“If you want to win the talent wars and retain your current employees, you have to create an employee-focused culture by personalizing the employee experience,” Thompson believes.
