SBA making $5.25 million available for efforts supporting entrepreneurs
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced that up to $5.25 million will be available as part of two initiatives focused on impactful and inclusive approaches to supporting entrepreneurs in conducting R&D. One is the “Growth Accelerator Fund Competition (GAFC),” the other is titled the “SBIR Catalyst Prize Competition.”
- In the case of the first initiative, SBA will provide up to $50,000 per award to accelerators and incubators to provide focused assistance to STEM/R&D entrepreneurs, including but not limited to support for company formation as well as awareness and education of the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs.
- The SBIR Catalyst program funds entrepreneur support organizations with up to $150,000 per award to act as connectors across current and future programs that fund innovation clusters, hubs, and navigators.
SBA has scheduled a webinar on the programs for 2 p.m. EDT tomorrow (June 2). Registration link is here. Details on both programs is available here, and the application deadline is July 2.
