Finalists, details on Sunday’s “What’s the Big Idea?” announced

The Knoxville Entrepreneur Center (KEC) has named the five finalists for what has to be the most innovative format for the annual “What’s the Big Idea?” event.

Due to COVID-19 considerations, KEC has shifted from the traditional in-person pitch competition to what is now branded as a “pitch festival.” And, unlike the normal 6 to nearly 8 p.m. Sunday event, this year’s version will run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. this Sunday, April 11.

Finalists are: (1) CRWDN App; (2) Liora LLC; (3) Leviathan Affordable Aquarium Automation; (4) Lulu Liquor Cakes; and (5) Ear Buttons.

KEC has also partnered with Loch & Key Productions to showcase exclusive music videos at the finale. The musical lineup includes: (1) Tennessee Power & Lights (formerly Gran Torino); (2) James Trimble of the Dirty Guv’nahs; (3) Peak Physique; (4) J Bush; and (5) Kelsi Walker.

Judges who will select the winner of the $10,000 top prize are: (1) Ashley Capps, Founder of AC Entertainment; (2) Angelique Adams, Author and Chief Innovation and R&D Officer at Aperam; and (3) Harry Boston, Founder and President of Boston Government Services LLC.

Other sponsors of “What’s the Big Idea?” are The Development Corporation of Knox County, Harper Auto Square, Lunchpool, Pitchwire and The IT Company.
