Two local entities among 18 receiving awards under DOE’s “H2@Scale” funding call
Two Knoxville area entities were awarded a little more than a combined $3.7 million under the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) recent “H2@Scale New Markets Funding Opportunity Announcement” call.
According to DOE’s announcement, 18 entities (click here for the list) shared about $64 million in funding to support affordable hydrogen production, storage, distribution, and use. The local recipients are:
- Collaborative Composite Solutions Corporation in Oak Ridge was awarded $2,700,540 for a project titled “Melt Spun PAN Precursor for Cost-Effective Carbon Fiber in High Pressure Compressed Gas Tankage”; and
- The University of Tennessee, Knoxville received $1 million for its proposal titled “A Systematic Approach to Developing Durable, Conductive Membranes for Operation above 120°C.”
