Haslam College Professor studies how social considerations like gender drive entrepreneurial passion

Melissa Cardon, Nestlé Endowed Professor of Business Administration in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, investigated how social considerations such as gender drive passion among entrepreneurs.

The study, “Fueling the Fire: Examining Identity Centrality, Affective Interpersonal Commitment and Gender as Drivers of Entrepreneurial Passion,” appeared in January in the Journal of Business Venturing. Cardon found that the origins and types of passion entrepreneurs experience differ markedly along gender lines. You can read more about her study in this article from the latest edition of the College’s Haslam Magazine.
