Registration now open for Knoxville’s upcoming “Startup Day”

Registration for Knoxville’s annual “Startup Day” is now open. As noted in this recent teknovation.biz article, it and all other activities during “Innov865 Week” will be virtual.

“Startup Day,” set for September 29, is being shortened to a two-hour event beginning at 2 p.m. and delivered via the Lunchpool platform. The annual pitch event is being retained with six of Knoxville’s most investable start-ups competing or a chance to win up to $10,000 in cash prizes as determined by a panel of expert judges. In addition to the opportunity to spotlight their start-up for investors, entrepreneurs will compete for a “crowd favorite” cash prize presented by BB&T and SunTrust Bank, now Truist.

In addition, this year’s event will feature a special award and recognition of an inventor who has made a positive impact in the fight against COVID-19. That award will be presented by Verizon.
